rebuildingsociety.com Appoints Relationship Manager

The Leeds-based peer-to-business lending platform, rebuildingsociety.com, has appointed Rick Hyland as its new Business Development Manager for the Yorkshire region.

In the last two months rebuildingsociety.com has grown rapidly, advancing over £500,000 in loans in the period, with the platform’s average lender contributing over £3,000 to growing businesses. The average time between application and receiving a loan for successful businesses is down to 14 days.

Rick joins from recruitment agency Reed and will be responsible for creating relationships with SMEs throughout Yorkshire and the UK that want to borrow money to finance growth. Outside his day job, he also runs the Stagecoach Theatre Art Schools based in Malton and Northallerton.

He said: “I’ve spent the past five years helping businesses get the right staff, but I’m also a business owner myself, so I understand the frustrations SMEs have with traditional finance.

“This market really is a win-win for businesses and I would encourage them to make contact to see how we can help. There is certainly a growing appetite among consumers to lend to successful businesses in a range of sectors.”

Dan Rajkumar, MD of rebuildingsociety.com added: “Rick is a relationship person. He has an easy rapport with everyone he meets with an excellent understanding of business. I’ve worked with Rick previously and know his drive and personality can help rebuildingsociety.com scale rapidly in the next 12 months.

“We exist to help SMEs grow and by connecting businesses to lenders that care about the UK’s prosperity and are willing to help them in ways other than just lending money, we’re offering considerable value to businesses.”

rebuildingsociety.com facilitates loans from £25,000 upwards and businesses must have at least two years of trading history and be profitable. For more details on its borrowing criteria, please visit rebuildingsociety.com
