The Hollies is a privately owned facility and the owner, takes an active interest in the daily management of the centre, ensuring all our care home residents are provided with the highest level of professional care and support in a friendly community environment.

Residents in The Hollies can enjoy beautiful views across the Gloucestershire countryside and can also take in the delights of the local Cotswolds town of Dursley, with its local charm and modern care home facilities.

The Home has built up an excellent reputation with CQC, Local Authorities and health professionals. Occupancy typically varies between 95 - 100%, and 80% of clients are private pay as apposed to local authority funded. Both these figures are considered higher than the industry norm, reflecting the strong reputation and high standards of care.The Hollies has a loyal and stable staff team, most of whom live locally in or around Dursley.

What is the loan for?

The original loan was used towards the funding of a refurbishment programme of 13 existing rooms, to bring them fully up to date and project a 4 star hotel feel. Typically this involved new LED ceiling spotlighting, Decorative coving, new carpeting and soft furnishings and French patio doors in some rooms. This project is now complete, and the newly refurbished rooms are very well received by prospective customers and families, and enable us to charge a premium price of circa £100pw for the room.

The loan is to cover the cost of converting the second floor as a dementia care wing, for 19 residents.

Why consider investing?

There is a strong demand in Gloucestershire for dementia care, with a shortage of good quality providers. We feel that the creation of a dementia wing will meet this demand and satisfy an important demand which will continue to grow as the population ages. Business-wise it will enable the Hollies to provide a broader spectrum of service, increase occupancy and average fees.The business has a strong track record and cash flow, and has reduced bank borrowing by £1.5M in the past 3 years.
